Night, the Parthenon

A soft breeze caresses shadows of stone columns,
once so strong.
Clearing the Parthenon,
taking with it, as day ends, the music of Theodorakis, sung in Dalares’ voice.
Left behind, my Persephanie,
such sadness as, again,
I hear the echo of your cries.
