You’re Here, You Didn’t Run

You needn’t have stayed,
there was only more sorrow to be had
if you stood near me.
But you were there.

How could you believe ?
You needn’t have stayed,
sorrow heaped upon sorrow,
sandwiched with pain.
Yet, you believed
in me.
You were there.

I see you
Here you are
You didn’t run
despite the fear.
You’re here
still.

Courage, dear warrior,
the field is yours.
You’ve stood your ground.
You’re here.
