That Day, October

Although gone
It returns
With it, the smells sights sounds
That day
October

Dancing slowly
Malou
Holding you tightly
Whispering
Three times – 3/8

Walking
Arm in arm
That look
‘Can I kiss you ?’
Gardens
Couples
Children
All in our city, Neruda’s city

The greenhouse
Misted, millimeters of separation
A gulf, it turns out….
What do your eyes say
So sad
What do they say ?
Why did i miss this ?
It’s ending my great love
It’s ending
We will be different now

And so we are
You sit, hugging your knees, changed
I stand, searching for that look
For what I’ve lost, unchanged
Different, maybe
Ended, no

Our lives are our currency
Soon spent
On what….
Work, sorrow, pain, but yes joy, too

Seconds
moments of such joy
as we’ve given one another
give life meaning

No my heart
Not for one moment do I wish
I hadn’t loved you
Not for a millisecond
Never

That October day is gone
This one is still before us
Sight, smells, sounds
Dancing slowly
Malou
May we share this one too
And more
In Neruda’s city
Golden Lion
Glass floor
Writing
Laughing
Loving
Helen…….
