Morning Commute

Salmon-turquoise frosted morning
Against voluptuous mountain darkness
wind-whipped leaves scatter
as if in fear
Our park
Vacant bench

Reaching into my chest
the raw hand of Winter
chills my heart
in your absence

No matter the season
you are my Spring
